Disney+: you will soon be able to create content with AI on the SVoD platform

Have you always wanted to create your own story with Elsa from The Snow Queen or the little alien Stitch ? This will soon be possible on Disney+which plans to allow its subscribers to generate their own Disney content on the streaming platform with the help of AI.

Mickey in the hands of subscribers

Bob Iger, the president of Disney, announced yesterday that the plan for Mickey’s House is to make Disney+ “a portal to all things Disney.”

This includes video games, because the company has invested $1.5 billion in Epic Games to develop new games that will be integrated into Disney+, but also content created by and for subscribers to the SVOD service.

“AI will allow us to offer Disney+ users a much more interactive experience, including giving them the ability to create and consume user-generated content, primarily short-form content,” Iger explained.

Obviously, Disney is not going to let people do anything with its intellectual property and intends to strictly regulate what can be done with its characters via AI.

Iger thus underlined that the house of Mickey had “productive discussions” with certain companies specializing in AI: “The goal is not only to protect our intellectual property and creative engines, but also to explore opportunities to use their technology to enhance consumer engagement.”

Those who don’t have the patience to wait for the release of Frozen 3 Or Coco 2 will therefore perhaps soon be able to have fun with the characters of these films on Disney +, but for that they will have to be subscribers to the streaming service, which has just announced that its number of users has increased by 3.8 million for a total now amounting to 131.6 million subscribers worldwide.
