Do you have an iPhone SE? Bad news, it has become “obsolete” for Apple

Throughout the year, Apple sorts several of its formerly marketed products by categorizing them as old or obsolete. This is also the case for several products at the start of December 2025, including the first generation of iPhone SE, but also a few Apple Watches and an iPad Pro.
The iPhone SE is becoming obsolete, but what does that mean?
Always longer, the list of Apple’s obsolete products now welcomes the iPhone SE. A situation which results in repairs in the Apple Store limited to parts still available in stock. Same situation for authorized service centers, as they can no longer order the necessary components.
Although the first generation iPhone SE is the only smartphone affected in December 2025, other devices from the Apple firm are also going through obsolescence. This is particularly the case for the second generation of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but also for the Apple Watch Series 4 Hermès and Nike as well as the Beats Pill 2.0 connected speaker.
A real blow for owners of these models, who in addition to no longer being able to benefit from the latest updates, will potentially have to turn to third-party repairers not approved by Apple to repair their iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch in the future.
Enough to send two strong signals which can clearly encourage the renewal of its equipment with more recent products, such as theiPhone 16eTHE iPad Pro M5 or even theApple Watch Series 11.
For those who are not concerned, be aware that your Apple product may well become obsolete in the future. Two years before being defined as such, the Apple firm categorizes them as old, thus warning users of an end to future repairs.
As a reminder: a device is considered old 5 years after it has ceased to be marketed by Apple, compared to 7 years to be categorized as obsolete.
