Just a few days ago, we were talking to you about the PowerToys update 0.96and the fact that the next improvement of this suite of open source tools to boost Windows 11 should not occur until next January. Today, we know what it will probably be made of. According to the few elements revealed by Microsoft and its developers on GitHub and X, the emphasis will be placed on managing screen settings with a new module soberly called PowerDisplay.

Managing screens will soon be simpler and faster on Windows 11

There is still work to be done around this very early tool suggested by the community, but it would already be functional. As third-party utilities like Twinkle Tray already allow, PowerDisplay brings together sliders in one place to play independently with the settings of its screens.

Brightness, contrast, color temperature and even sound volume of any integrated speakers are included.

Apart from having to dig into Windows settings or go through third-party software, this new PowerToys could have a real card to play by being fully compatible with all screens. Like many very practical modules in the suite, direct integration of this functionality into the OS at a later stage could also be a good idea as it seems so obvious.
