If this new model appeared on the shelves a few weeks ago, in mid-October, it becomes particularly relevant today. Indeed, while France is going through an autumn and winter weather episode marked by sustained rainfall, the management of indoor humidity is once again becoming a major concern. Before looking in more detail at this category of products in a future comparative report, let’s focus on this new product which specifically targets small homes and damp rooms.

An answer to small, crowded spaces

The Bora 12L complements the brand’s existing 20 and 30 liter versions. As its name suggests, this model offers an extraction capacity of 12 liters of water per day. A theoretical volume sized for more confined spaces such as laundry rooms, windowless bathrooms or storage spaces, where condensation and mold tend to develop quickly when humidity levels exceed 60%.

On the technical side, the device works using a compressor which sucks in ambient air to condense the humidity. The water is collected in a 1.7 liter tank. A volume which may seem limited for intensive use, but the manufacturer has provided a continuous drainage option via an evacuation pipe, thus avoiding the chore of manual emptying. The device stops automatically if the tank is full.

The “tumble dryer” function forward

One of the technical arguments put forward by Duux lies in the versatility of the device. In addition to air purification (supported by a carbon filter for odors), the Bora 12L retains the “tumble dryer” mode of its big brothers.

Concretely, the device forces continuous operation regardless of the target humidity level, while directing the flow of dry air upwards to accelerate the evaporation of the water contained in the stretched textiles. According to the manufacturer, this method would allow energy savings of around 50% compared to a traditional drum dryer. A promise of energy efficiency that will need to be verified in use, but which is interesting in a context of rising electricity costs.

Ergonomics and availability

The design is sober for discreet integration (42 dB announced in operation), with mobility provided by four wheels and a carrying handle. Control is carried out via an LED panel displaying the humidity in real time, with access to the different modes (night, automatic, continuous) and a timer.

The Duux Bora 12L is already available from the usual retailers as well as on the brand’s website, at the recommended retail price of €199.99.
