Dyson strikes hard with Pencilvac, a revolutionary vacuum cleaner and ultra-fine expected in France in 2026
It has now been several years since the British Dyson had not been talked about on the soil maintenance market, in any case. His last announcement in the field, that of the model Because+boathad not really excited your favorite editor when the last real innovation, the Gen5 Detect, already dated from 2023, a real eternity in a hyperconcurrential market. This is why the announcement of Pencilvac represents, in itself, a small event.

Far from the massive models to which Dyson has accustomed us, Pencilvac rather eyeing on the side of Omni-Glide, this original vacuum cleaner thought in his smallest details to be as handy as possible. As a reminder, in addition to a main body almost as fine as the suction tube, it also welcomed a particular brush, with two rollers turning in the opposite direction to each other to further increase its agility. In absolute terms, Pencilvac follows the same outlines, improving them a little nevertheless.

First of all, he underwent a weight loss cure. Indeed, it does not exceed 38 mm wide, which still represents a small tour de force, since it was necessary to insert, in what is not much thicker than a broom handle, a manifold, a filtration system, a control panel with a count of the autonomy to the nearest second, a removable battery (60 minutes of promised operating) and an engine. Precisely, the latter called Hyperdymium ™ 140K is only 28 mm wide, but runs at a maximum speed of 140,000 rpm. Be careful, this does not presume the final efficiency of the product, but the figures remain impressive. Obviously, solutions have been developed to reduce the impact of vibrations (noise responsible) and to improve heat evacuation, fatal in such a cramped space.

The filtration system has also undergone a deep overhaul and, due to the reduced space, there is no longer a question of cyclone. Air and dust pass through a first metal filter to retain the largest debris. A second filter resembling a HEPA filter is responsible for retaining the smallest particles; Engineers promise that 99.9% of particles of a size greater than 0.3 micron will be captured. The fact remains that the collector whose volume reaches 0.08 liters (compared to 0.5 liters for a conventional vacuum cleaner) risks being saturated very quickly. This is why a dust compression system, using the powerful air flow, was provided by the Dyson R&D department.

From omni-glide, Pencilvac also inherits the famous multidirectional brush, in the absence of a more suitable name. However, it has greatly evolved to become the Fluffycones ™ brush. It is no longer two rollers who hug, but four. But above all, they adopt a conical form, already seen on the minibrosse of the V15 detect: it is supposed to facilitate the evacuation of hairs and long hair, which a test made by digital had also confirmed at the time. And since this suction head must evolve in all directions without constraint, it welcomes not one, but two lasers to detect the dust: one at the front and one at the back.

Finally, pencilvac is the first vacuum cleaner-balai Dyson to be paired with a smartphone. This should not revolutionize the genre, but we are promised additional parameters, but also advice on cleaning and maintenance of the device as well as alerts to change the filters in particular.
For the moment, the vacuum cleaner-Balai Pencilvac must be marketed in Asia, but it is very possible that it arrives in Europe and France in 2026. It is therefore still a little early for a price, even approximate, has been communicated.
