Elon Musk deprives the Europe of Tesla Model YL for a totally lunar reason

We finally thought we were holding a Tesla thought for families. An electric, spacious SUV, six places, ideal for tutting children, suitcases, stroller and scooter without sacrificing the style. The kind of vehicle that hit the bull’s eye in Europe, where the supply of this type remains surprisingly skinny. Except that here: This YL Model, just unveiled in Chinacould never cross Asian borders.

The YL Model launched in China, but America and Europe remain on the tile
Not because of technical problems. Nor costs. Or even regulations. No. This refusal comes directly from above: Elon Musk himself suggested that he could not see the utility. The reason? Autonomous driving is coming. At least he believes in it. So much so that he prefers to give up today a very real vehicle … in favor of a future always hypothetical.
This kind of vehicle could have had a future traced on other continents, especially in Europe where the supply of six -seater electric SUVs remains rare. However, Elon Musk showed the hopes of a simple message on X. In response to a surfer, he said:
This version of the Model will not start its production in the United States before the end of next year. And perhaps never, given the arrival of autonomous driving in America.

So that’s it. According to him, level 5 autonomy (always nonexistent at a time when these lines are written) would be so imminent that it would make one more family model useless. Why design a spacious tesla if tomorrow, no one will lead? This reasoning, Musk has been going out for years. He has already deleted physical equipment in his cars, given up affordable models and left whole projects for constantly pushed technological promises.
The most ironic is that even in the event of the arrival of autonomous driving, a six -seat model like the YL would make sense. It would even be an excellent base for a robotaxi. But no: the future premium on the present, even if it means depriving itself of a product which, concretely, responds to a real demand.
In Europe, nothing has been confirmed. But everything suggests that if Musk already dismisses this model for the United States, the old continent is not about to taste it either. The Berlin factory will not produce it, the market is less profitable in China, and autonomy, even more distant herestill serves as a alibi. Result: this YL model, which could have hit the bull’s eye, is sacrificed in advance.
This variant of the model y doesn’t start production in the US UNTIL THE END OF NEXT YEAR.
Might Not Ever, Given the Advent of Self-Driving in America.
