
Far Cry: the creator of Alien Earth will adapt the video game into a series for Disney+
Will you get some JV back into your TV? After Fallout, The Last of Us or even Splinter Cellanother famous video game is about to hit the small screen: Far Cry.
The FX channel has indeed formalized the production of a series co-created by Noah Hawley (Alien: Earth, Fargo) and Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), just that.

Far Cry in anthology mode
The FX channel, notably behind the series Shōgun, American Horror Story And Atlantarevealed that this adaptation of Far Cry will be in the form of an anthology series, in which each season will take the narrative format of the games in the franchise, and will take place “in a new setting and with new characters”.

Noah Hawley, who just produced the series Alien: Earth for the channel, rightly declared: “What I love about the Far Cry franchise is its anthological aspect. Each game is a variation on the same theme, just like each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme.”
“Creating a blockbuster action series that evolves every year, while exploring human nature through this complex and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared vision to the screen, both irreverent and ambitious.”he concludes.

The program will therefore also be able to count on the expertise of the actor and creator Rob McElhenney (who today is Rob Mac), who therefore continues his collaboration with FX after the acclaimed and awarded series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia And Welcome to Wrexham.
Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment, expressed his joy at such an officialization: “FX has enjoyed wonderful collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley, totaling six series and 32 seasons of television combined, and we are thrilled to see them team up again for Far Cry. I am confident they will tell this story in an original, captivating and wildly entertaining way.”

Since its first game released in 2004, the franchise Far Cry of Ubisoft has produced six mainline games, several spin-offs and sold over 50 million copies. The last game Far Cry 6set in the Caribbean, was released in 2021.
This future series Far Cry which does not yet have a release date, will be produced by Rob McElhenney, Noah Hawley, Emilia Serano, Nick Frenkel, Jackie Cohn, John Campisi and by Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin and Austin Dill on behalf of Ubisoft Film & Televisions.
The series will air on FX in the United States, and on the Disney+ streaming platform in the rest of the world.
