Despite encouraging beginnings, the second generation of modern Fiat 500 quickly saw its sales collapse. For good reason, it was planned only with 100 % electric engines which earned it high prices.

But since its launch, and as a thermal version finally decided has been about to be launched, Fiat has been trying to pull the prices from its 500th down to maintain its competitiveness. Currently, the brand even offers € 5,000 discount on the online price of its electric mini-city.

The 500th is displayed from € 23,900 deducted in its new POP entry -level finish and it is also eligible for the EEC premium which replaces the ecological bonus. The amount of the latter is € 3180, or even € 4,240 for the most modest households. What bring the price of the Fiat 500E under the € 20,000 for customers eligible for the maximum amount of the EEC bonus.

The Fiat 500E under the € 20,000: should we crack?

At this price, the Fiat 500E, however, made some sacrifices. Its POP finish is, for example, deprived central screen or radio, replaced by a smartphone support. The Heart -of -range finish, better equipped, is billed € 25,400 deducted (excluding EEC bonus).

In addition, these prices concern the engine and especially the entry -level battery of 21.2 kWh useful from the 500th. If the 70 kW (95 hp) of this model should be sufficient, its 190 km of WLTP autonomy will quickly show their limits outside of urban circles. We still benefit from a “fast” load at 50 kW, on which the Renault 5 Five makes for example the dead end.

To benefit from more versatility, the Fiat 500E is also offered in a version of 87 kW (118 hp) with a useful 37.3 kWh battery, allowing it to travel up to 331 km with a load according to the WLTP protocol. Its continuous power power goes to 85 kW. The price of this version is € 27,400 in pop finish, taking this same discount of € 5,000 into account. It is also eligible for the EEC bonus up to € 4,240, depending on income conditions.

Few electric cars manage to appear below 20,000 € Decrees and bonuses deducted. However, the duo will be noted Citroën Ë-C3 And … Fiat Large Electric Panda. The latter is delivered to € 23,400 excluding the EEC bonus, or € 500 less than the 500th. It offers as standard a more attractive technical sheet, with a power of 83 kW (113 hp), 320 km of autonomy and a DC recharge up to 100 kW. It is also larger, more practical with its five doors and equipped as standard with a touch screen with wireless smartphone replication. It remains at the 500th its more opulent presentation, facing a large jovial panda, but much less chic.
