Free Mobile subscribers, here is the official advice from Free to take full advantage of its network

On its support site, Free Mobile has recently displayed a bubble which redirects the visitor to an article with a clear title: How do I optimize my mobile network? The operator’s objective is to give some advice which, although it will seem obvious or useless to many users, could help others to easily resolve problems or improve their access to the troublemaker’s mobile network.
Simple tips to take better advantage of the Free Mobile network
To begin with, Free Mobile reminds us that it is always good to keep your phone up to date. The latest software patches on Android or iOS, beyond adding features and correcting security vulnerabilities, can actually improve the performance of the terminal.

This also concerns access and use of the mobile network. So manually check from time to time that your smartphone is up to date from its settings. Also remember to restart it from time to time: this never hurts and can resolve slowness issues.
Free Mobile’s other advice is a little less generic, but can also apply to other operators who offer the VoLTE option. If your smartphone supports this feature allowing you to use the 4G/5G network to make clearer and faster voice calls, it may be necessary to set your device so that it prioritizes 4G or 5G, rather than 3G.
- For an iPhone, point Settings > Cellular Data > Options > Voice & Data
- For an Android (whose menu names may vary depending on the model), go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks (or SIM card & Mobile data) > Network mode (or Network type)
Free indicates that if you cannot find the option, it is because your smartphone does not offer it or, converselythat it is enabled by default — which is often the case. Everything will therefore depend on the age of your terminal. For subscribers to the €2 package, the operator indicates: “Check that the Data service option is activated from your Mobile Subscriber Area. Your VoLTE calls will be deducted from your plan like traditional calls.”
Idem, do not hesitate to activate calls by wifi (VoWiFi) if your smartphone allows it in order to make your calls at home using your box rather than the mobile network.
