Free updates the Freebox Server with version 4.9.2

On the side of the fixes, this update comes to send several well identified irritants. THE VPN Using the IKEV2 protocol did not work properly when the user was connected to IPv6. It is now corrected, as is FTP connections in passive mode, which could refuse to settle.

On Windows PCs, the Freebox had sometimes disappeared from radars in the file explorer – it is impossible to spot it or access its shared content. This network visibility bug is now corrected. Finally, manual settings of telephone gains, inoperative on certain models such as Deltathere Pop or theUltraare now fully functional.

But beyond the Rustines, Free introduces a technical novelty that will make lovers of well-kept network smile: the possibility of deactivating the USB3 on certain models via Freebox OS. Why this choice? Because USB3, in its bandwidth generosity, has the bad habit of emitting in a frequency range very close to that of Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz.

Result: in some cases, an external hard drive can disturb or even paralyze your wireless connection. The forced passage in USB2, although slower, makes it possible to avoid this type of interference. It is an elegant solution to a real problem, left to the discretion of the user.
