Gamers will be delighted: AMD’s new gaming processor, boosted with cache, could be released before Christmas

AMD’s Ryzen 5 7500X3D, information about which leaked last week, has just appeared in the Geekbench benchmark software, revealing its performance in the process. This appearance, which follows the publication of a product sheet by a British retailer, suggests that testers already have copies in their hands and that the release is imminent.
96 MB cache
This leak also makes it possible to confirm the specifications anticipated when the product sheet was published. Thus, the Ryzen 5 7500X3D is composed of 6 multithreaded cores (6C/12T) with a nominal frequency of 4 GHz and a boost to 4.5 GHz. The amount of cache is obviously substantial at 96 MB, which should give a serious boost to the framerate of your games, particularly fond of AMD’s 3D-V Cache technology.

Application performance in line with expectations
We spotted two entries in Geekbench for the Ryzen 5 7500X3D. The scores obtained range between 2399 And 2549 for the score on one core, and between 11323 and 11826 for the score on all the cores.
In comparison, the average score of the Ryzen 5 7600X3D (which was not officially released in France) is 2890 and 12888. If we rely on these results, the Ryzen 5 7500X3D is therefore approximately 14% less efficient in single core and 10% less efficient in multicore, which can be explained by its lower operating frequencies than those of the Ryzen 5 7600X3D.
However, these benchmarks only measure application performance. It will therefore be appropriate to wait for the first results in the game to form a definitive opinion on this processor which, remember, is entirely dedicated to this use.
Another major unknown: the price
The major unknown remains pricing placement. Currently, the gateway to 3D-V Cache technology on AMD’s AM5 platform is the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which can be found from €379. For those who do not hesitate to buy abroad, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D is around €325.
To be competitive, the Ryzen 5 7500X3D will therefore have to be sold below the €325 mark of the Ryzen 5 7600X3D. This would make access to 3D-V Cache technology more affordable for gamers, even if the rising cost of RAM risks spoiling the end of year celebrations.
