
God of War: Amazon announces two seasons and recruits a director of The Boys
Kratos and Atreus fans, rejoice! Prime Video has officially ordered two seasons of the series adapted from God of Warin the pipeline for the streaming service since 2022, and headed by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Outlander). Casting is underway and filming is expected to begin soon in Vancouver.
A prestigious director at the helm
That’s not all, because a renowned director has been hired to sign the first two episodes of the series. This is Frederick EO Toye, Emmy Award winner for his work on the series Shōgun.

Toye is a big screen regular, having directed more than 130 hours of series like Fallout, The Boys, Lost, The Walking Dead or even Westworld.

He thus joins the showrunner Ronald D. Moorealso writer and executive producer of the series. God of War is a Sony Pictures Television/Amazon MGM Studios co-production, in association with PlayStation Productions and Moore’s production company, Tall Ship Productions.
The series is based on the PlayStation video game God of War and follows the story of father-son duo Kratos and Atreus, as they begin a journey to spread the ashes of Faye, wife of one and mother of the other.

During their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus wants to show his father how to be a better human.
