Originally: a hybrid frame signed Leica

The L mount (with L for Limitless) was developed by Leica in 2014 and introduced with their first hybrid with an autofocus system: the Leica t. The L-Mount Alliance was officially announced to the Ociation of the Photokina (the largest lounge dedicated to the photo organized every 2 years in Colognes in Allengne at the time) In 2018. The announced objective was to bring together more industrial, Leica, Panasonic and Sigma, with the ambition to unify the objective and box systems for better compatibility. The Alliance has established itself as an industrial integration model in digital photography, like the micro Four Thirds consortium initiated in 2008.

Since 2018, the Alliance has expanded: Ernst Leitz Wetzlar (2021), DJI, Astrodesign, Samyang and Blackmagic Design have joined the consortium. We also saw manufacturers of Chinese optics arrive like Sirui at the start of the year. Today it is the manufacturer Viltrox who joins the alliance

Sigma declines all of its L mounting objectives and its hybrids, such as the recent Bfexploit this mount L. The same goes for Panasonic with the S series of Lumix, such as the last S1 II and therefore nTAUALLY in Leica with the SL system and for example the last SL3S. Thanks to this alliance, it is therefore possible to use any lens in l mount on a l without restriction hybrid and this on models of hybrids equipped with Full Frame, APS-C or micro 4/3 sensors.
