Are you still the one who takes the photo, but never on it? Google has thought of you with its new feature unveiled at the exit of Pixel 9,, 9 pro,, 9 Pro XL And 9 Pro Fold : Add me, or add me for anglophiles.

Its goal: you automatically add to a group photo, as if you had been there from the start. And the result is quite stunning.

Where to find the function on your Pixel 9?

  1. Open the camera.
  2. Switch on the modes until you find “add me” (usually to the left of the portrait mode).
  3. You are ready to capture everyone – including you.

Here is how to succeed in the perfect group photo without tripod, or galley, and without anyone sacrificed to the role of photographer:

Step 1: The photo “Without you”

Ask someone (or do it yourself if you are initially out of scope) to take the first photo of the group. Remember to leave a little empty space where you appear afterwards.

Step 2: The Switch

Pass the smartphone to an accomplice and place yourself at the place you had planned in the photo. A translucent overview of the first image will appear, to help him place you without hiding anyone. A white window will appear to wedge the frame. If it gets red, move a little: the angle is not good.

Step 3: Click, Fusion, Magic

Your accomplice takes the second photo – of you, this time – respecting the initial framing. Afterwards ? Artificial intelligence enters the scene: it combines the two images to create only one, where you are perfectly integrated into the group. Even light and depth are harmonized.
