Google Pixel: The April 2025 update is available, here are the new features
After the feature drop early week Bringing eyes to Gemini LiveGoogle decided to deploy a new update in April 2025 on its Pixel smartphones. It does not offer new features, but focuses on a series of fixes aimed at securing and improving the user experience of smartphones.
The new features of the April 2025 update on the pixel
Available on all models of Pixel 6, Pixel 7, Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 (whose youngest), the new update marks the arrival of the security patch of April 2025. With the latter, Google fills 62 vulnerabilities inherent in Android, ranging from a high risk to critical.
In addition to this good news for data protection on pixel, this version refines several aspects of Google smartphones, starting with the stability of the camera during front/rear zooms on all Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 as well as the Pixel Fold.
All models compatible with the update are then entitled to four bug corrections. Google thus specifies having corrected linked problems:
- To the recognition of fingerprints and its reactivity
- To the flicker of the brightness of the screen when using video streaming applications
- To overlap of the weather clock displays on the lock screen
- To the behavior of the Pixel Launcher when creating a new user or the change of user
Small improvements welcome for users affected by these inconveniences. As for the others, this version is a nice additional safety layer against the latest vulnerabilities discovered.
