It is not yet time for the big jump. Openai confirmed what many foresee: GPT-5 will not happen immediately. The announcement, made by Sam Altman, sounds like a halt … but actually hides a much more ambitious background strategy.

The reason? One equation with several unknowns. Altman evokes “Multiple obstacles” to the integration of the new model, coupled with unprecedented technical pressure. But where some would see a break, Openai plays the card of the mastered transition. Two new models are announced for the coming weeks: O3, who should have been canceledand o4-mini, O3-mini successor.
