Grand Theft Auto 6: the Nintendo Switch 2 could well spring a surprise

This hypothesis is based on the statements of Nate the Hate, an informant recognized for the reliability of his sources, who asserts on X that the Californian studio is currently conducting exploratory tests.

According to the information revealed, Rockstar Games would have undertaken technical investigations to determine whether the Nintendo platform could accommodate its next opus. An approach which is part of a common practice among developers, consisting of evaluating the viability of a port before committing significant resources. Nate the Hate also specifies that this experimental phase in no way prejudges effective development.

The first visual elements released by Rockstar suggest that GTA 6 will aim for a frame rate of 30 frames per second on PlayStation 5 And Xbox Seriesrevealing the technical requirement of the title. The announced advanced simulation systems and the implementation of ray tracing would put intense demands on current processors, suggesting considerable challenges for a machine with lower capacities.

The Switch 2 nevertheless has significant advantages. Its RAM surpasses that of the Xbox Series Sproviding a working basis for possible transposition. Above all, the integration of NVIDIA’s DLSS technology, already convincing in Cyberpunk 2077 Or Street Fighter 6could partially compensate for the difference in raw power.

The fact remains that the release scheduled for the end of 2026 gives time to see things more clearly. Between preliminary tests and a marketable version, the road remains long.
