After a halftone beginnings and a sulphurous reputation, Grok is about to change his face. Elon Musk announced the official launch of Grok 4 for this Thursday, July 10 at 5 a.m. (Paris time), with an event broadcast live on X. The opportunity for Xai, his artificial intelligence startup, to prove that she has the shoulders to compete with Openai, Google or Anthropic – without going into the row.

GROK 4 officially announced: Musk’s controversy will be revealed live this July 10
This new model, called Grok 4 therefore, marks an assumed break. Elon Musk confirmed on X that there would be no version 3.5: the progress made would justify a generation jump.
AI would now be capable of more structured reasoning, a finer understanding of the code and, according to certain sources, multimodal interpretations. This last point could mean better management of visual language and web culture (memes, images, etc.), in a logic of convergence already observed in Openai and Google Deepmind.
Released last February, GROK 3 had aroused many criticisms for its excesses – conspiracy, stereotypes and assumed political bias. Elon Musk claims an “anti-Woke” line, which he presents as a defense of freedom of expression. A rhetoric which, under cover of frankness, sometimes opens the door to problematic positions. It remains to be seen if Grok 4 will manage to raise the level without reproducing these flaws.
Two variants are expected: a general version, intended for the general public, and a development -oriented declination, thought to assist the developers. The goal is always the same: install grok as a credible player in the sector, capable of competing GPT-4O,, Claude 3 Or Gemini 1.5.
