Half price bose? Skullcandy tries the blow with its original Method 360 old headphones
If his real hour of glory dates back to the 00’s years, when the success of his helmets cut for extreme athletes was in full swing, Skullcandy intends to come back to the stage. To date, mainly acclaimed for its haptic gaming helmets, the brand unveils the headphones True Wireless Method 360 Anc, whose ambition is to offer the sound signature of Bose in an original and attractive format, at a much lower cost.
A sound setting and ergonomic fins under the control of Bose
Skullcandy actually counted on Bose to settle the tone of these new headphones. If the brand prides itself on offering a “high quality sound“, we do not expect performances worthy of those of Bose QC Ultra Earbuds. Indeed, even if their design is a little too “inspired” of these, the Method 360 ANC in no way integrate the acoustic components of Bose.
On the format side, the Skullcandy Method 360 ANC are placed between semi intra headphones and real intra-ear headphones. They have an imposing rod, as well as silicone tips and fins developed by Bose. Their sliding load box, already encountered at the Dimé Evo iteration, is specially designed to be clipped to a bag or a belt passage thanks to its integrated carabiner. Rather practical for not having to keep your headphones in the pocket during summer evenings.
Noise reduction to 4 microphones and Bluetooth audio compatibility
Using no less than four microphones to capture ambient noises, the Method 360 ANC seem very close to bose headphones in noise reduction technology. They also provide a modular Stay-Aware mode to stay in touch with the environment. With an IPX4 certification, these headphones would even be designed for sport, Skullcandy announcing resistance to perspiration.
Carried by a Bluetooth 5.3 receiver compatible with the Audio standard, the connectivity of the Method 360 ANC seems completely complete. You can also count on Google Fast Pair and the multipoint for easy pairing on Android and a simultaneous connection to two sources. A low latency mode would also be available via the Skull-IQ app, in addition to an equalizer and a personalization function of its touch controls, among others.
In order to provide intelligible phone calls, the Method 360 ANC have a noise reduction algorithm called Clear Voice. The brand also provides a voice return function so that the user can agree properly during calls.
A generous autonomy, at a competitive rate
On the autonomy side, the METHOD 360 ANC promise more impressive performances than those of ultra earbuds QC, namely 8 h and 11 h of autonomy with the activated ANC and passive insulation.
These headphones will be available from June 1, 2025 in Black, Bone, Primer, Plasma and Leopard finishes for € 119.99. At this price, with a plethora of attributes close to those of the high -end bose headphones, the Method 360 could establish themselves as a reference to the excellent price/performance ratio.
