A joyful and overwhelming adventure in the life and head of a woman like no other, full of inventiveness and a thousand visual or narrative ideas. It’s funny, it’s charming, it’s touching, and it’s worn by a cast of impeccable French actors. A real masterpiece to rediscover.

Zodiac

David Fincher (Seven,, Fight Club) Ties with the true story that terrified her in his childhood, and affixes his corrosive gaze and his mastered staging to deliver one of the best police films of the 21st century. The filmmaker deploys his investigation with Malice, juggling between real advances, false tracks and twists and turns to play with the spectator’s emotions and keep us brilliantly. An icing thriller worn by a casting at the top, including the excellent Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr.

Elvis

Elvis Presley’s life and musical work through the prism of his complex relationships with his mysterious manager, Colonel Tom Parker, from the singer’s ascent to his unequaled status of star, against the backdrop of cultural upheavals and discovery by America from the end of innocence.

When director Baz Luhrmann (Romeo + Juliet,, Gatsby the Magnificent) Ties to one of the most iconic musical figures of the 20th century, the result is necessarily explosive. Baroque and feverish, Elvis is a film to the measure of the artist he serves, for exuberant staging and bewitching aesthetics. Thelma and Louise

Two friends, Thelma and Louise, frustrated by a monotonous existence with her husband, the other with her boyfriend, decide to afford a weekend on the magnificent roads of Arkansas. First stop, first saloon, first troubles and everything changes. A tragic event will definitively change the course of their lives.

Visionary and feminist epic, Thelma and Louise has not lost its strength and efficiency in three decades. The duo Geena Davis / Susan Sarandon sublimates this story of emancipation of a rare power, and the journey of two women for freedom, in a society that mistreats them. Sublimate by the staging of Ridley Scott, and a handful of excellent secondary roles (Harvey Keitel, Brad Pitt …), Thelma and Louise is a great film to see and review without moderation.

The Batman

Gotham City knows that Batman is a competent and powerful crime fighter, but during his second year to make the streets safer, he faces his greatest difficulty. The Riddler is in full deadly madness and attacks the elite of the citizens of Gotham.

Directed by Talenteux Matt Reeves (The Planet of the Apes),, The Batman was a real slap, and a great critical and public success when it was released in the cinema. And it is deserved: the film is a radical, brutal and masterful proposal. A real visual jewel with a significant atmosphere, which sticks to the body. If history loses its rigor on the way, it is an exciting and shiny rereading of the hero of Bob Kane and Bill Finger. Robert Pattinson is a magnificent evidence in Batman, and the film replaces the vigilante at the top.

Freely adapted from a novel by Stephen King, The escapees is a captivating prison film swollen with humanism, in which anger, sadness and joy collides. Frank Darabont’s camera (The green line) gives all his wonderful to this inspiring tale carried by the duo Tim Robbins / Morgan Freeman who will give you a smile on his lips and tears in the eyes. An indestructible classic, and a sure value of relaxation evenings.

Wonka

Willy Wonka does not go unnoticed. In addition to his own appearance, his hat and his cane which define him as a king with crown and scepter, Willy Wonka has an extraordinary charisma. But there was a time when he had no real goal to achieve. His life is going to make sense the day he meets the famous Oompa-Loompas.

Tender, singing and jubilant, Wonka is a great success that manages to beautifully revitalize the universe of Roald Dahl. Carried by a Timothy Chalamet twirling and piloted by the duo Paul King and Simon Farnaby (Padadington), this chocolate adventure will be able to delight young and old … if the latter let the child which is hidden at the bottom of them return.

Ocean’s Eleven

Parasite

The entire Ki-Taek family is unemployed and is very interested in the lifestyle of the wealthy Park family. One day, their son managed to be recommended to give private English lessons among the Park. This is the beginning of an uncontrollable gear, which no one will really come out unscathed.

Signed by Bong Joon-Ho (Memories of Murder,, Okja), one of the best active directors, this social thriller is both a family drama, a corrosive criticism of our society, a painting of the class struggle, and much more. Parasite is a film of a rare thematic richness, which seizes by its brilliant writing and its inspired realization so as not to let go. Quite simply one of the great films of the 21st century, winner of the Palme d’Or and four Oscars.
