There are always omissions before going on vacation, and one of them could now seriously worry users of electric vehicles. The owner of a Cybertruck indeed had the unpleasant surprise not to succeed in starting it, after two weeks connected to the mains at his home. Here is what happened!
Connect your electric car for too long: a risk for cybertruck… and the others?
Media Gamestarthis new news item made in USA has something to ask questions about the effects of an extended load of electric cars. Aj Esguerra, owner of a cybertruck, has indeed shared his amazing experience on social networks.
When he returned after two weeks of vacation, he noticed a big problem by wanting to take a look with his Tesla electric pick-up : Impossible to start it. However, he claims to have respected all the instructions put in place by the automotive brand of Elon Musk.
By consulting his application, he notes that the Cybertruck has not given a sign of life for 11 days – which allowed him to assume that recent hot weather of the region (more than 40 ° C) could have damaged certain electronic components.
After contacting Tesla customer service, a technical team came very quickly to establish a vehicle diagnosis. Result: the power converter was faulty, a key element to ensure the distribution of energy between the battery and the different components of the cybertruck, including the engine.
Faced with this situation, the manufacturer has borne all repair costs. It would be rather an isolated case than a generalized defect – a problem which is therefore unrelated to battery wear and tearoften pointed out on electric vehicles.
However, no official explanation was shared concerning the exact cause of this failure. The driver simply specifies having had the habit of recharging his cybertruck during the coolest hours of the day, and therefore at night – except during these two weeks very strong.
