“His project is to destroy us”: Openai wants to stop Elon Musk in justice

What had started in 2015 as a collaborative utopia between enthusiasts of IA Vire today at the Battle of Egos. Elon Musk, co -founder of the structure at its beginnings, is now presented by Openai as a malicious actor, unable to support success of a project he left – not without a crash – years earlier.
The heart of the quarrel
In a new complaint filed before a federal court in San Francisco, Openai does not mince his words: Musk would have “Make the destruction of Openai his project”animated not by the general interest, but by a desire for personal revenge. A frontal accusation, where the start-up which has become a giant of AI asks the justice to prohibit the billionaire any action deemed illegal or unfair against him, and to keep him responsible for damage inflicted in his image and his activities.
Elon's incessant actions against us are only bad faith tactics to slow out Openai and seize major IA innovations for personal benefit. Today we have counterattacked to stop it.
This legal salvo echoes a previous attacklaunched by Musk itself a few months earlier. In this first complaint, he accused Sam Altman and Greg Brockman of having betrayed the founding mission of Openai by favoring a commercial structure, in particular through the strategic partnership with Microsoft. But Openai counterattack with his own internal archives, revealing emails where Musk himself pleaded for a lucrative model … which he hoped to have control.
In other words: what Musk is criticizing today, he would have once actively encouraged him – provided he was at the head of the ship.
A masked influence of influence in moral crusade
This judicial war is not just a banal divergence of strategic visions. It crystallizes a much deeper struggle of influence on the future of generative artificial intelligence – and above all, on which will hold its reins.
Musk, now at the head of Xai-a direct competitor of Openai-seeks to regain control over a sector whose first lines he helped write? Or is it, as Openai suggests, a destabilization company orchestrated by a frustrated pioneer, eager to win back the scene he left?

In her complaint, Openai goes even further: she describes a musk deploying an all -round harassment campaign, mobilizing her platform X to disseminate attacks and innuendos, while multiplying legal procedures against the company and its leaders.
Through media attacks, malicious campaigns broadcast in more than 200 million followers on the social media platform he controls, a pretextual request for corporate documents, harassing legal actions and a dummy offer for OpenAi assets, Musk used all the means available to harm Openai.
Image War, Future War
Behind this judicial quarrel, it is also a war of image that is played out. Long perceived as an ethical lighthouse in the storm of AI, Openai is trying to preserve its legitimacy, at a time when its alliance with Microsoft earned him criticism and suspicions. On the other side, Musk tries to resume the moral torch, denouncing a betrayal of the founding principles … while building in parallel his own alternative, XAI.
The creation of Xai is therefore not trivial. She embodies this almost obsessive need to regain control over a technology that Musk considers crucial for the fate of humanity. Even if it means burning what he helped build.
While waiting for the courts to decide, one thing is certain: the rupture is consumed. The initial utopia shattered. And the settlement of accounts will be played in camera … in a courtroom.
