HISENSE M2 PRO: The new 4K laser projector at a low price that wants to shake up the market
Hisense has just presented his new ranges of televisions as well as TV and cinema laser (the manufacturer’s lounge video projectors) and among these, an M2 Pro that we had already observed duringA press trip to China. The Hisense M2 Pro (not to be confused with the MacBook M2 Pro …) promises to be a Hisense C2, more affordable, of course, but with the always interesting 4K technical sheet.
A more nomadic format
Forget the big living room video projectors: the M2 PRO is much less bulky than an ultra C2, but keeps a folding swivel foot to find the right angle quickly, that you are aiming at the bottom of the living room, or the ceiling above your bed. Hisense delivers the device with a transport cover to protect it easily.
The essentials under the hood: 4K, 200 inches and full HDR
In this relatively compact case is always hidden a trichroma laser module as on the other large Hisense videosprojectors, capable of covering almost all of the BT.2020 colorimetric space, a good feat for a model of this template. The brightness drops to 1,300 lumens against 2000 lumens for the C2, a logical compromise to display a softer price and not to hinder the C2. The image stretches from 65 to 200 inches against 300 for the C2, but that is largely enough to transform a section of wall into a real cinema canvas.
Connectors at the rear.
Another compromise, the contrast is announced at 1000: 1, and could therefore be much inferior in reality, which should still stand out from the big brother C2, but we will have to check all this during our tests. We also note the presence of dual compatibility Dolby Vision and HDR10+ quite rare on current video projectors. The M2 Pro also retains the automatic correction of the trapeze and the development.

A price that could change the situation
Remember: the C1 landed in November 2023 at 2300 €, then the C2 followed suit around 2000 € and up to 3000 € for the C2 Ultra. With an indicative rate of € 1,400 (probably cheaper among resellers), the M2 PRO may well shake the market. At this price, there are essentially Full HD LED projectors (1080p) sometimes very good as theEPSON EF-22but not a real 4K laser, although LG has tried it with the Cinebeam.
The silver design of the M2 Pro remains treated.
Of course, the 1300 lumens will not make a miracle in broad daylight, and the advertised contrast is rather in the average, but the compactness equation + 4K trilaser image + affordable price remains very interesting on paper and the projector could well drop an excellent note.
Pending possible future models even more affordable at Hisense (a non -pro M2?), Go in July 2025 to discover this M2 Pro in our lab.
