The HP Victus Gaming 15-fa2016nf faces the competition

This versatile laptop has a sober gaming appearance, targeting gamers and creatives with its dark angular design.

The connectivity integrated into this creative gaming laptop is good, including recent Bluetooth 5.4 in addition to 6-axis Wi-Fi for communicating and connecting remotely wirelessly, a useful HDMI video output to easily connect it to a monitor or projector for example, Ethernet and audio ports without forgetting 1 USB-C and 2 USB useful for connecting peripherals – but at a classic speed.

The chiclet keyboard is of course accompanied by a backlighting system that simply activates in the dark to better distinguish the keys.

Gamers will appreciate the 144Hz frequency, which is higher than the classic 60Hz because it provides greater fluidity in everyday life, including in games.
Well suited to videos due to its 16:9 format, the Full HD screen benefits from significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles thanks to its IPS technology. However, this is not high-end, the colorimetry here is average.
In any case, with its anti-reflective coating, the screen is more readable in a bright environment (e.g. outdoors) than a shiny panel.

Performance, autonomy of the HP Victus Gaming 15-fa2016nf

The HP Victus Gaming 15-fa2016nf is a high-performance, versatile laptop focused on gaming and creation.

Whether with the Iris Xe graphics module integrated into the processor or the dedicated GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card, you can watch HD photos and videos on this gaming laptop.
The GeForce RTX 5050 is in fact enabled by Optimus technology to carry out graphics work deemed too heavy for the Intel Iris Xe.

If Optimus favors operation on the Iris Xe as much as possible despite its much lower performance, it is because it consumes little energy. Operation on the Iris Xe therefore promotes autonomy which here is around 5 hours of battery operation in light use.

In any case, NVIDIA Optimus technology automatically switches in real time between the GeForce RTX 5050 and the Iris Xe, depending on needs.

It is the Core 5 210H which integrates within it the Iris Xe, a processor equipped with 8 hybrid cores which is certainly recent but of an old generation Raptor Lake Refresh.
It is here coupled with 16 GB of RAM to provide very good general performance capable of satisfying many users.

Creatives will appreciate that their processing is carried out more quickly with the Core 5 210H than with a classic Quad Core, particularly in areas taking advantage of multi-core, such as video editing or photo editing.
However, to often carry out processing requiring processor resources, it is better to opt for a PC with a (recent) processor offering a higher number of efficient cores.

The fact remains that the dedicated onboard GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card advantageously supports this core under software using GPU computing power since it provides graphics acceleration of processing. This is particularly the case under Vegas, the Adobe suite or VSDC.

Equipped with the recent NVIDIA architecture Blackwellthe GeForce RTX 5050 ray tracing is a dedicated graphics card thanks to which gamers can play as many games as possible.
The most demanding titles in graphics resources require some adjustments to obtain good gameplay.

Thanks to its great speed, the low-energy silent storage helps us quickly access online game cards or launch games/software, start/stop or even carry out processing quickly.

And in terms of capacity? HP opts here for a classic solution that is found in many configurations on the market, including (significantly) more expensive: a 512 GB SSD.
However, if you need additional space, you can use an external storage unit. To obtain the fastest possible transfers, we will favor the connection of a 3.2/USB-C device rather than USB 2.0.

As for heating and noise, expect them to appear in the event of heavy use (e.g. games, processing) of this versatile, creative-oriented gaming laptop that can be coupled, if necessary, to a ventilated support to limit its temperatures (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
