I was fed up with too long YouTube tutorials: IA created me clear and instant guides

I recently moved into a new accommodation. Not being a handyman in my soul, I had to learn the basics: to handle a percussion drill, choose the good ankles according to the materials, or even put a bell on the step of my door. If the YouTube tutorials greatly helped me at the start, I was quickly slowed down by their length and the overflow of digressions. I therefore now use artificial intelligence to directly access the essentials, without wasting time. Whether to tinker or in a completely different framework, here is how AI can create tailor -made guides.
Summarize a YouTube tutorial with AI
To stay in the theme of DIY which occupies me a lot at the moment, I chose to illustrate this article with the replacement of built -in locks. Concretely, it was a question of removing the handles of my interior doors equipped with a key lock, to replace them with button locks, as are commonly found on the bathroom or toilet doors.
However, unlike certain areas, DIY requires certain visual explanations to better understand. So I chose to use the Digest Youtube browser extension, available for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Once installed, it is capable of summarizing point after point, while retaining the exploitation. Therefore, it is possible for me to click on a link to directly access the passages of the video that interest me, while having a summary in writing.

In this example, I just have to search for the section that intrigues me and click to unroll the explanations.

It is possible to export the information recovered by youtube digest in different file formats, including .pdf and .docx for subsequent use.
Create a mini-guide with chatgpt
Other artificial intelligence platforms also make it possible to summarize videos; This is also the case of Chatgpt. With a suitable prompt, AI is able to generate a clear mini-guide suitable for the target level. To use the example of locks, I transferred to Chatgpt the same request through this prompt: “Make me a clear and synthetic guide to reverse the direction of a built-in lock, in maximum 5 steps and in bullet points format (list). Use simple language, no jargon. Add a line for errors to avoid“.

If the answer is correct on the bottom, the use of Digest Youtube has the advantage of displaying video visuals, which is much more suitable for DIY. Using chatgpt alone, without digest youtube remains perfectly suited to learn more theoretical notions, such as understanding the different types of ankles to set an object to a wall, for example.
