More precisely, this problem affects the Super Island dynamic notification area and the slider to manage the volume. The patch will be added in the next HyperOS update, as announced by Xiaomi.

HyperOS will release a fix for this display bug

But what exactly is this bug? The problem occurs when the user rotates their smartphone to a horizontal position to watch videos or play games. Normally the entire user interface adapts via the phone’s gyroscope.

Except that an error in the software part prevents the dynamic Super Island notification area and the volume slider from adopting the correct position. As a result, these elements remain displayed vertically even though the phone is in landscape mode. A very unpleasant visual lag which completely destroys the experience.

Xiaomi software engineers identified and corrected the origin of this anomaly, a bug which prevented the smartphone from understanding the change in orientation detected by the gyroscope. Users will therefore find a fully functional smartphone with an interface that rotates harmoniously when switching to horizontal mode.

The patch is now finalized and those affected are just waiting for its distribution. We expect availability within a few days, or at most several weeks. You will therefore have to go to the settings of your Xiaomi smartphone to install the latest HyperOS update which contains the corrective patch.
