In the wake of Garmin, Polar unveils its paid subscription for connected athletes

Is it very surprising? Even when Garmin has just launched his Connect+ offerthat is to say his first paying subscription to obtain new features dedicated to sport and health, his polar competitor follows suit. It is therefore a service called Fitness Program Who is born today, and completes its usual Polar Flow application, available both on smartphones (iOS and Android) and in the form of a web service.

Everyone has their own training schedule

On the menu of Polar Fitness Program, and as its name suggests, training programs that the Finnish firm announces particularly personalized. “After six months of beta phase, we are launching a program designed to support users in the long term”says Jonas Rajaniemi, the director of services at Polar. By relying on cardio data collected by watches and other pectoral belts of the brand, but also by assessing the quality of sleep and user recovery, Polar promises to define training plans over four weeks adapted to its level of form. In case of fatigue, the service will therefore be able to reassess the proposed schedule. This one, indicates Polar, combines cardio sessions and optional muscle strengthening exercises. It is compatible with various types of sports activities, including sacro-saint running, and programs are available in 20 levels of requirement, there too to adapt to all types of personal objectives.

For the time being, Fitness Program is only available on Android terminals and in the European Union as well as in the United Kingdom and Norway. Suffice to say that Polar seems to have precipitated its launch, since it will be necessary to wait for the second half of 2025 to obtain the iOS version, on the same markets. As for Polar Flow, which makes it possible to obtain many metrics after training, a history and a calendar of sports sessions, it remains free. Also note that Polar applies a price (similar to its competitors) of € 9.99 monthly, with a short 14 -day free trial period.
