On Digitalwe are testing the delay in the display (Input Lag) TVs, monitors and video projectors to verify that the products are well suited to video games. As a reminder, we consider that theInput Lag is perfect if it is less than 16 ms, so that there is less than a delay image between the moment when we take an action at the controller or the mouse and its repercussions on the screen.

If the delay in the display is higher, it is not necessarily very serious if you are not a professional player, but it should not be too high so that there is too much latency when you play. Let’s say that a Input Lag less than 50 ms remains acceptable, but everything will depend on the type of game you practice: it will of course be less annoying for a solo game than for competitive multiplayer on Counter Strike,, Call of Duty,, Apex and other Valiant.

Many televisions and monitors today offer delays in very low display, but for the moment, video projectors are still lagging behind, with Input Lag which can be raised and exceed 50 ms, even on high -end models.

To offer you ever more precise measures, we have just renewed our equipment by going to the last 4K Bodnar Leo available. This allows us to now give in our tests the measurement ofInput Lag In Full HD at 60 Hz (which was used so far), in Full HD at 120 Hz and in 4K at 60 Hz. Unfortunately, there is not yet a device allowing to make measurements in 4K at 120 Hz, but a priorithe gap should be very light with the Full HD 120 Hz.

You will therefore see these three new indications in our tests of televisions, video projectors and monitors today, as in that of Philips 55Oled810 or Panasonic Z95B which has just come out.
