Gaining autonomy is always necessary at one time or another when you have a smartphone. This is how Apple decided to refine his proposal with iOS 26between a mode saving valuable percent of battery, a detailed management menu and crucial information when recharging the iPhone.

A new mode to gain autonomy on iPhone, without doing anything
The major novelty of iOS 26 side autonomy has a name: theAdaptive supply. Accessible via the battery section, then power mode in the adjustment app, this option cut for iPhone Air is an asset of size nevertheless available on all Apple Intelligence compatible models.
The new IOS 26 adaptive power supply mode analyzes the usual battery consumption of each user to anticipate the moment when it risks being exhausted and preserving it intelligently until the end of the day.

Concretely, this mode automatically modifies some settings of your iPhone, such as slightly reducing the brightness of the screen or the execution time of certain tasks, in order to allow you to hold for a whole day. Everything is calculated based on your uses.
Activated, the option acts by itself when using the battery, which could prevent you from ending the day without going through the recharge box. The latter can also intervene automatically when the energy saving mode starts from 20 % remaining autonomy.

Note that a notification will be automatically sent each time the adaptive power supply will activate.
The second change linked to iOS 26 is the brand new menu dedicated to battery. Thanks to him, it is always possible to see his daily energy consumption, with the added bonus of a small information on his daily use, more or less high than usual.
We find below the activity section of the apps and the system, which makes it possible to identify the few most energy -energy apps during the day. As a bonus, it is now displayed for the time of use of the app displayed on the screen and in the background.
By touching an app, iOS 26 has a detailed summary of use. We thus know how many percent and time consumption is greater than normal, daily use in the last seven days, as well as an explanation on the types of activities.
Returning to the battery menu and touching the mention to see all the use of the battery, we find the screen time on and off, the latest load cycles, consumption data for each app and certain iPhone functions (connection sharing, lock screen, etc.).

Information finally available: the remaining charging time
Several small changes are then intertwined to improve the user experience on the side of autonomy with iOS 26.
It starts with a novelty expected for a long time: the display of time remaining load. When the iPhone is in the mains to recharge, whether in wired or wireless, the locking screen displays above the clock the time remaining before reaching 80 and 100 % battery. It is also possible to find this information in the battery section of the adjustment app.

This information will be crucial to better plan your uses and know in advance when unplugging your iPhone, once sufficient autonomy for the day has been reached.
iOS 26 finally offers an optimized energy saving notification for Dynamic Island, or more descriptive battery icons. “If the recharging is suspended due to optimized charging parameters or reasons related to the temperature, the battery icon at the top right of the iPhone will be gray instead of being green”reports in particular Macrumors.
