Although the launch of the iPhone 16e got off to a flying startthe sequel would not be as satisfactory for Apple’s latest affordable smartphone. Indeed, new information points to disappointing sales, just like for the iPhone Air. Two new models launched in 2025 which would therefore have difficulty reaching their target sufficiently.

The iPhone 16e is the second new 2025 model not to sell well

Replacing the third generation of iPhone SE, theiPhone 16e takes a slightly different direction in terms of pricing placement — going from an entry price of €529 to €719. The revised technical sheet and design, however, do not seem sufficient to seduce.

In addition to the iPhone Air, Fixed Focus Digital explains in fact that the two Apple smartphones “not selling well at the moment”. This would still not justify the abandonment of these models, which “will be updated as planned”. The informant reiterates in passing that the iPhone 17e would be the first to arrivenormally in spring 2026.

As a reminder, this would bea slightly improved generationwith a little twist to the design and improved performance.

Production of the iPhone Air would be well and truly stopped

About iPhone Air, Fixed Focus Digital puts a part back into the machine confirming that sales are not good. He actually emphasizes that the production of the ultra-thin model “was arrested”.

However, we do not know if this choice is the result of low sales or just a pause for Apple to empty its first stocks before relaunching the machine. It therefore remains to be seen whether the concessions of this new smartphone really put off all of the Apple firm’s customers, or if the transition will come with time.

In the meantime, recent rumors speak of an iPhone Air 2 which is still relevant, but who would have fallen behind. In question: a laborious development to correct one of the concessions of the first generation.
