Although the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air seem to bebe a failure in terms of salesthe iPhone 17s are doing very well. The numbers continue to come in on this subject, to the point of showing more than impressive growth for Apple in 2025 – to the point of knocking Samsung off its podium, and the launch of the Galaxy S26 is not about to change anything.

Apple, the big winner of 2025 with the iPhone 17

Good news is pouring in around the reception of iPhone 17 by consumers. By mid-November 2025, Counterpoint Research also announced that Apple had recorded an increase in its iPhone sales of 37% during the month of October 2025 compared to the same period last year. A figure that speaks even more when we know that the smartphone market had only grown by 8%.

It is now the turn of the analysis firm Counterpoint Intelligence to put a layer on it, ensuring that while the market would see an increase of 4.6% in sales in 2025 compared to 2024, Apple would expect growth of 10% over one year.

A development that would allow the Apple firm to reach a market share of 19.4%, thus putting it at the top of the ranking of phone manufacturers for the current year – thus stealing the spotlight from the usual leader for years, Samsung.

For Counterpoint Intelligenceall this only results from a simple fact: the arrival at a “inflection point” of the iPhone renewal cycle among many consumers. They are therefore more likely to move on to a new generation, and more logically the lastor the iPhone 17.

Finally, it is specified that Apple should remain the number one seller of smartphones until 2029, at least, in particular thanks to the first folding iPhone or even theiPhone 17e. A risky craze, when we know that Samsung has the advantage of offering a much more varied range of smartphones.

The South Korean company does not in fact confine itself to just the top of the basket – upper mid-range and high-end – as the Apple firm does. In the meantime, its next big release is planned for January/February 2026, with the launch of Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra.
