iPhone Air: end of concessions in 2026 with a much more solid photo part

Apple’s innovation in 2025 is on the thin side, with the launch of its thinnest smartphone: the iPhone Air. A feat that is not to everyone’s taste, in particular because of a more than light autonomy compared to other models, but also a photo part reduced to the strict minimum. According to a recent rumor, the iPhone Air 2 would do away with some of these concessions.

Improved camera and battery life: the two main expectations for the iPhone Air 2

Let’s talk about the main disappointment of the iPhone Air: the photo sensors. Indeed, Apple has opted for a rear photo module with a single sensor, a 48 Mpx wide-angle. Although it is the Swiss army knife of the company’s smartphones, the latter clearly limits shooting in front of a iPhone 17also sporting an ultra wide-angle.

According to recent information from Digital Chat Stationthis weak point would be resolved with the iPhone Air 2, with the addition of a 48 Mpx ultra wide-angle. A change that would potentially impact the ultra-thin design of this generation, given that space would have to be found for this new component.

We remind you that the imposing photo module of the iPhone Air is not there to look pretty, given that it contains the majority of the smartphone’s components – just to leave the rest of the space for the battery, already much reduced because of its thinness of 5.6 mm.

In addition to this development for the photo part, there is a good chance that the iPhone Air 2 will also be entitled to a welcome boost in autonomy. This could be caused by the arrival of a new generation of Apple 5G modems and the A20 Pro chipmore energy efficient, succeeding the C1X and the A19 Pro of the iPhone Air.
