An almost nine year old adventure that ends

Launched in 2016 to try to take advantage of the aura of the information site (which will stop in 2018) and forum hardware.fr, the Hardware.fr shop took advantage of a pooling of means with its parent company LDLC to sell computer components. Recall that the latter has owned since the summer of 2024 of rue du Commerce.

For recent customers from hardware.fr, the farewell message specifies: “If you’ve already ordered, don’t worry! The current orders will be processed and your personal space is accessible until the end of July to allow you to see the evolution of your order and recover your invoices.“”

In addition, customer service will remain accessible by phone and email. For future purchases, it will now be necessary to go through the LDLC site.

Bad results for LDLC

As relayed by our colleagues from Nextthis decision comes after the announcement of poor results for LDLC. Its turnover is down 6.5% over its financial year 2024-2025 enclosed on March 31, 2025.

“”During this period, we implemented actions relating in particular to organizational and rationalization measures in order to deal with the significant fall in the group’s activities and thus strengthen our resilience in the face of the state of the market“, says Olivier de la Clergerie, director general of the LDLC group. This famous” rationalization “must therefore concern Hardware.fr, whose results have not been specified.

The redemption of rue du Commerce undoubtedly played in the scale, while the sale of equipment to individuals, including via its other brands that are Topachat and Materiel.net, is down 3.6 %, at 378.3 million euros. Sale to professionals it recedes even more, by 13 %, reaching 144.3 million euros. Inflation and the rise in prices is not unrelated to these results, while LDLC launched last March two job backup plans which provided 88 posts. However, the group remains optimistic for “next growth cycle“And hope for a”Back to normative profitability levels.“”
