Kef XIO: The Hi-Fi specialist returns with an ambitious high-end soundbar

With Kef XIO, the British manufacturer, best known for its speakers, seeks to satisfy all uses, from listening to music to video games, including film consumption. On paper, it does not lack arguments and technologies to achieve it.

Can be fixed at a wall or placed on a piece of furniture, the Kef XIO is a beautiful baby (which remains quite fine): 1 210 x 70 x 165 mm per 10.5 kg. Compatible Dolby Atmos, DTS: X, Airplay Spatial Audio and Sony 360 Reality Audio (and with a very large number of codecs and services), this 5.1.2 soundbar with very sober design therefore seeks immersion, modernity and exhaustiveness.

Three UNI-Q MX speakers and two wide strip speakers are there on the main channels, four LF P185 speakers take care of the bass, and two other UNI-Q MX speakers are responsible for verticality. Upmixing for stereo sources and many homemade technologies are there to improve the richness and precision of sound.

The manufacturer notably praises its VECO technology, supposed to greatly reduce sound distortion for a crystalline result. Kef is also proud of the quality of his sound bar in mediums, including perfectly clear dialogues.

In terms of connectors, in addition to Bluetooth 5.3, AirPlay 2 and Googlecast fleas, Ethernet ports, HDMI EARC and Optics, as well as RCA output for Basses Box, are there. It is also possible to add a KW2 RX wireless receiver (180 €) to strengthen the bass. A remote control is provided, but it is also possible to adjust the bar via the KEF Connect application.

Available now in early access for MyKEF members and at approved KEF resellers, KEF XIO will then arrive in France on July 17. Its price? This is where we will have to take a great inspiration: € 2,300.
