LAB – A new filtration system for the Shark POWERDETECT BALAI vacuum cleaner

“Shark POWERDETECT: The filtration-free balai vacuum cleaner”: The title of the Shark vacuum cleaner test left no room for doubt. Indeed, our filtration tests had sealed the note of this model, however very efficient, moreover. Because, after it makes it swallow 20 grams of cocoa powder, we had found more than 16 grams in the HEPA filter, making this POWERDETECT the least efficient model in this area, far behind the other devices of our comparison. This result had been penalized by a two-star sub-note only for maintenance, which, logically, had lowered the general four-star note.

However, the manufacturers read our tests in the smallest detail and, necessarily, the Shark teams fell on the article. Is it because of us? Were they already aware of the filtration defect? The fact remains that a new version of the Balai vacuum cleaner, with a whole new filtration system, is recently released and we have renewed our filtration test.

And good news (for Shark anyway), the results are much better. We only found 0.063 gram of chocolate powder in the foam filter and 0.019 gram in the HEPA filter. Admittedly, it is not yet perfect, but it is more than enough not to have to clean its filters all the time. With such a result, the maintenance note, which takes into account the filtration increases dirt.

Good point, even if the collector has changed to accommodate this new filtration system, it is always as simple to disassemble to access inside and thus clean it in every corner.

New note for a new life?

Given these new results, we have changed our final of the Shark POWERDECTECT. But beware, it is impossible to know what type of filtration system teams the models sold. According to the brand’s representatives, the banners who are currently on the shelves are equipped with the new component. But there may still be non-sales devices that still don’t benefit from it. We should soon have the exact service date of the new version Shark POWERDETECT and we will not fail to inform you.

And of course, the POWERDETECT test was changed with the results that the most recent filtration tests have given us.
