Created by Michihito Fujii, the series arrived on Netflix on November 13 and can count on favorable opinions from both the press and the public, accumulating for example 100% positive reviews on the site Rotten Tomatoes.
Given this success, the question of its renewal therefore arises, but as Netflix is not in the habit of renewing its international series so quickly, we will have to wait to know more about its audiences before knowing if Last Samurai Standing will indeed have a season 2.

That being said, the creator of the series has already declared have a plan on “two or three seasons” for his samurai series.
Those who have seen the first season know that it does not close its story and invites a sequel, however Fujii is aware that “sometimes future seasons don’t come until two or three years later, and viewers have forgotten what happened before,” then adding that he tries to tell as much as possible in a season.

“If we can wrap up the whole story with another season, I think that would be our goal,” Fujii clarified.
So one more season or two for Last Samurai Standing ? The fate of the Japanese series is in the hands of Netflix and we will have to wait before knowing whether Fujii’s plans can be implemented or not.
