The Chinese manufacturer Leapmotor, whose export of the models is Managed by Stellantisis much less important than giants such as Byd. However, this young brand founded in 2015 is currently a breakthrough thanks to the particularly aggressive prices of its electric cars.

Stellantis launched the marketing of Leapmotor electric cars in Europe with the Mini Citadine T03 and the family SUV C10 In 2024. The brand subsequently completed its offer by revealing its compact SUV B10 During the Paris Motor Show last October, proof that Europe is at the center of Leapmotor lusts.

Now, the manufacturer is preparing to present a new model, again by choosing a European fair for its world premiere. Thus, Leapmotor will unveil his electric compact B05 on the occasion of the Munich show, which will be held from September 9 to 14, 2025.

The B05 will therefore be a rival of the Renault Megane e-Tech, Peugeot E-308 and other MG4. It should take over the Leap 3.5 platform from the B10, but also from the B01 tricorps sedan not marketed in Europe. These two models offer two LFP batteries of 56.2 or 67.1 kWh, which could inherit the B05, and are equipped with a rear engine, making propels.

On the style side, Leapmotor should be content to adapt the very classic lines of its other models to a compact hayon sedan body. So we should not expect a design of great originality, with probably a front face similar to that of the B01. A first stolen photo, shared by the media Chinaev Homeallows you to get an idea of your style.

A rate expected at around € 25,000

As with the B10, despite a world first in Europe, the B05 should first be marketed in China in November. It will undoubtedly have to wait a few more months to see it arrive in Europe, at a price that we hope close to 25,000 €. As a comparison, the compact B10 SUV will be sold from € 29,900 on the old continent.

€ 25,000 is precisely the entry-level rate of the Renault 5 E-Tech, however smaller, and therefore much cheaper than the € 39,500 claimed by a Megane e-tech. However, the Leapmotor B05, produced in China, will not be able to claim the new “boost electrical private vehicles” which replaces the ecological bonus, which the Renault models are in particular eligible. Stellantis nevertheless plans to produce Leapmotor models on European soil from 2026, which could change the situation soon and avoid significant customs duties.

The closest rival of the Leapmotor B05 should therefore be the MG4, currently offered from € 24,990 and whose very aggressive prices have already enabled him to seduce many buyers.
