Available for a few weeks, the LG C5 is once again an excellent mid -range OLED TV. Tested in our columns in his 65 -inch declination, he received five stars and our praises. However, if we were to advise you on a purchase, that wouldn’t be that one.

Prefer the LG C4 from last year.

A very close and much more affordable model

Indeed, the C5 only evolves compared to the C4 (which itself evolved quite little compared to the C3 of the previous year ..). Solid for its value for money as soon as it is released, the C4 is much more interesting today for those who are looking for an excellent television without breaking the bank. In 65 inch version for example, the LG C4 is between 1400 and 1600 €, when the LG C5 is negotiated from € 2,700. A notable gap.

C5 as C4 share the same strengths: excellent image quality, infinite contrast, mastered colorimetry in HDR as in SDR, limited energy consumption, complete connectors (including four HDMI 2.1 ports) or image frequency of up to 144 Hz with all the latest technologies (VRR, Allm, Earc, FreeSync and G-Sync …).

The image quality is therefore quite similar, the fault in particular at the C5 which does not kiss The new Tandem OLED technology offered in the G5 range. The light peak is certainly revised upwards on the C5, but it is almost the only difference with the C4, always very interesting. Especially since LG solutions are as convincing to read multimedia content as to practice video games.
