LG creates a futuristic screen that allows you to watch two movies at the same time

LG has just unveiled Dual View OLED, a new display technology capable of broadcasting two distinct contents simultaneously on a single screen, depending on the user’s position. The objective? Transform car travel into a truly personalized experience and avoid the headache of multiple screens in the cabin for manufacturers.
On the driver’s side, the screen can, for example, display GPS with a classic navigation app, while the front passenger can watch a film, a series or their favorite cat photos. We can also imagine it installed between two rear passengers, a single screen would allow them to watch two different programs at the same time, while optimizing the available space. No more arguments between children (and adults?), everyone will be able to watch their film on the road to Brittany.
A new piece of tech we hope to see at CES
At the heart of this innovation, LG has developed an optimized pixel structure that ensures the ability to see two separate images, without one obstructing the other. Each viewing angle therefore benefits from its own content, without superimposing images. With this Dual View OLED panel, car manufacturers could free up space, simplify the design of their dashboards and offer a more premium experience without multiplying screens.
An interesting technology on paper, and which we hope to see in operation at CES in January, but which will probably only equip high-end vehicles. Watching a film while someone else is driving will, however, undoubtedly be less pleasant than a good discussion between two people, although it all depends on the driver and the discussion in question, it must be admitted.
