Except that this subscription is accompanied by an imperative and, until then, YouTube was not very looking. Under the conditions, it is clearly explained that all people connected to the Premium Family account must belong to the same home.

The tolerance period is finished and Google tightens the screw with the first warnings. Several subscribers have already received an alert email which explains that their Premium Family subscription is “Pause”.

The message explains that one of the members was detected as being outside the place where the account owner is. Premium Family access is then interrupted within 14 days, specifies the email of the streaming platform. The person concerned is still attached to the account, but advertisements reappear.

As explained previously, Netflix or Disney+ apply this severe restriction. But it’s not just the video streaming platforms that are affected. Spotify has long applied very strict rules for the location of all members of the same family who have subscribed to the family subscription. The company has even used a GPS verification system in the past.

But quid Families who live in separate places but who find themselves regularly? For example, a major child who studies in a city a few hours away and then returns for the weekend. We doubt that Youtube makes a case by case, everyone will be housed in the same brand.
