Lomography breathes the magic of the 19th century into the videos of the 21st century

The Austrians of Lomogaphy give us the blow of Petzval optics. These objectives designed in the first half of the 19th century with their swirling bokeh had already been reinvented a few years ago in version 55 mm and 85 mm. But in this year 2025, the box market is dominated by video functions. This is why the Lomography teams announce not one or two, but five new improved versions for video uses.

At first, three optics “Joseph Petzval Focus-Coupled Bokeh Control” are pre-order on the Lomography site: 35 F/2.0, 55 mm f/1.7 and 80.5 mm f/1.9. Two other references are currently in development: a 27 mm f/2.0 and a 135 mm f/2.8.

Stampered art like the optics of Sigma, the five announced optics will be compatible with the Canon RF, Nikon Z and Sony E. They keep conventional optical constructions, but are designed to avoid the slightest “Detime when you change the bokeh level”.

If we add to this to the toothed rings to adapt these optics to classic Follow Focus mechanisms in the cinema, the click/Declick system, a long -race up -and -off ring (180 °!) Or the constant filter diameter (67 mm), we see that it is mainly the video markets that are targeted. But photographers could also appreciate the amazing background blur (Bokeh) “Toubilonant”.
