Max does (finally) like Netflix and adds this paid and expected option

The Max streaming platform follows the steps Netflix And now offers a paid option to counter password sharing. For the moment only offered in the United States, the option called Extra Member allows subscribers to add an additional member to their Max subscription against an additional cost of $ 7.99 per month (about 7 euros).

An upcoming offer in France

By adding an additional member to their subscription, holders of a max account can share the latter with a friend or a family member outside their home, and thus allow them to create an independent account with an adult profile under the same subscription. The additional member thus has his own login and password, separated from the main account.

Via this option, additional members can only look at a single profile and one device at a time, but apart from that they benefit from the same advantages as the account for the account holder. Moreover, whatever the offer to which the holder subscribes (Basic with ad, standard or premium), the extra member option costs the same price.

In 2023, Netflix had launched a similar option Price in France between € 5.99 and € 6.99 per month, and Disney+ followed it last fall In the United States (the extra member option of Disney+ is not yet proposed in France but should be by the end of the year).

Limited to a single additional member per subscription, the extra member option of Max is not available for subscribers who have access to the platform via a tier. Note, however, that it allows the transfer of profile, as also offers Netflix, in order to send the viewing history, the recommendations and the parameters associated with a profile to the new Max account.
