On May 21, French spectators will be able to find Tom Cruise in his iconic role of Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The eighth (and ultimate?) Opus of the action / espionage franchise is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and he obviously intends to deliver a spectacle up to expectations, as revealed by its XXL duration.
Almost 3 hours on the clock
With the release of the film in theaters that is getting closer, the presale of tickets are starting to open, and new information on the feature film appears slowly. Thus, the official sites unveiled the official and imposing duration of this eighth part: 171 minutes, or 2 hours and 51 minutes. A record for the franchise Mission: Impossible.

While the first film of 1996 lasted 110 minutes (1:50), Mission: Impossible 2 displayed him 123 minutes (2h03) when the third installment released in 2006 emarked at 126 minutes (2h06). In 2011, Mission: Impossible – Ghost protocol was even more generous with a period of 133 minutes (2:13), similar to the 132 minutes (2h12) of his suite Rogue Nation.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning To the air of swan singing for Tom Cruise, it is therefore not surprising that the star wants to go in style. It will therefore be necessary at least these 171 minutes to close the multitude of intrigues posed in almost 30 years of franchise.
As a reminder, The Final Reckoning is the direct continuation of the previous Dead Reckoningand will follow Ethan Hunt and his team in their fight against the entity, an artificial intelligence capable of influencing the world. A freed from the CIA orders, Hunt will try to put an end to this unprecedented threat, which everyone wants to obtain control.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, and written by Mcquarrie and Erik Jendresen, the film will see the return of known heads: twenty rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Angela Bassett, Pom Klementieff or Esai Morales. They are joined in the casting by Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Nick Offerman (The Last of Us) and Indira Varma (Game of Thrones).
