More bass and bi-printing: will the new Triangle Borea BR04 become the reference to € 549?
One of the brands offering stereo speakers at the best price/performance ratio is French. Indeed, with the Borea range, Triangle is aimed at music lovers as well as to users who wish to take first steps in Hi-Fi.
On the occasion of the High-End Salon in Munich, the manufacturer unveils the BR04, a new iteration coming to complete its series of passive speakers already composed of the BR02 and models models and BR03as well as column models BR07, BR08, BR09 and BR10. Note that Triangle declines its entry -level speakers in active versions named BR02 Connect and BR03 Connect, acclaimed by lovers of dematerialized music or looking for a purity.
A more imposing box and a new front vent
The BR04 stands out as the most upscale library speakers in the Borea series. Triangle obviously plans to capitalize on a successful formula, because they are relatively close to their little sisters BR03. Indeed, their speakers’ architecture is practically the same, made up of an EFS tweeter with a 2.5 cm silk dome and a 16 cm woofer. However, the latter is equipped with an optimized cone for “increased control of low frequencies“.
Combined with a box with more generous dimensions (220 x 425 x 314 mm), offering a higher load volume, as well as a redesigned bass-reflex event, this new speaker would allow better extension in the bass. An optimization that is not lacking in interest, knowing that if there was a reproach to make the BR02 and BR03, that would be their fairly timid restitution of the very low frequencies. The BR04 obviously use the DVAS owner system, which combines MDF panels and EVA foams internally to reduce unwanted vibrations.
For parts of less than 40 m² and bi-amplification enthusiasts
The BR04 promises a frequency response from 44 Hz to 22 kHz, allowing them to adapt to 40 m² and less parts. The BR03s, for the one hand, capable of descending up to 46 Hz, are rather recommended for parts whose size of not exceeding 35 m². If the eligible power goes from 100 to 110 watts for the BR04, the nominal impedance and the sensitivity are the same for the two pairs of speakers.
Finally, other slight optimizations have been implemented to improve the experience. We now find a double terminal block authorizing bi-amplification, in order to use different amplifiers for medium/serious and acute registers. In addition, note that the BR04 mark the introduction of a skate system adapted to their box, both acting as a non -slip and shock absorber.
The Triangle Borea BR04 speakers are now available for pre -order in chestnut, green, blue, light oak, ash and white finishes at a price of € 549. A price that remains relatively contained in relation to that which must usually pay for the speakers of such a format.
