Netatmo revisits its bestseller: the weather station, and it’s not just a makeover
Neat new features, Netatmo had an announcement to make and we were there. Even if the brand’s range has grown over time, this time was a question of the historic product who marked the start of their story: the weather station. Given the success of it, there is no question of changing at all but proceeding in small cosmetic touches and adding some new features and improvements.
Those who know the product will not be disoriented by its design, which remains identical, both for the main module and for secondary sensors. On the other hand, two colored touches bring cachet to connected objects: a sand declination and another mint.

Now let’s talk about rain and good weather. The new generation weather station called “Original” has additional features. We can of course keep the conventional measurements (temperature, humidity, indoor air quality, atmospheric pressure and noise level) but the station is enriched with two new features: the monitoring of the UV index and that of the pollen.
The UV index is presented on a scale of 0 to 11, with personalized recommendations depending on the level, and a projection over 24 hours. A useful function for anticipating the risks linked to solar exposure when you have planned to spend time outside for sport, leisure or other activity.
Still on the health side, pollen monitoring provides localized data on the concentrations of trees, herbaceous and grasses, classified in five levels. This information is accompanied by alert messages in the event of a peak, and a projection over three days. What good is it? To allow allergic people to adjust their activities or to medicate preventively as explained by the product manager during the presentation.
Finally, at the application level, the original weather station also allows you to configure customizable alerts on smartphone on temperature variations or the CO2 level in the home as well as a history of past data.
