Netflix news: films and series not to be missed in August 2025

Surfing on the success of Squid game Season 3 and the new volume of Sandmanthe Netflix streaming service continues its high year 2025 in August, with new films, series and documentaries added to its catalog.

And the event of the month is of course Wednesdayone of the most popular series on the platform, which returns for a season 2 obviously expected. Wednesday – Season 2 part 1

Wednesday Addams returns to prowl in the Gothic corridors of the Nevermore Academy. She will have to juggle family, friends and former opponents, propelled into a new year of dark and strange chaos at will. Armed with his sharp mind and his unique deadly charm, Wednesday also finds himself immersed in the heart of a new nicking supernatural mystery.

The surprise card of Netflix in 2022 is back for a second season “Bigger and Better”. On the program: the same ingredients in more imposing dimensions, an Addams family more present than ever, a casting of new heads (Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton, Lady Gaga), all always overseen by Tim Burton. A season 2 divided into two parts (the first fate on August 6, the second arrives on September 3) which promises to be darker, macabre and thrilling than the first.

The story of four retirees – Elizabeth, Ron, Ibrahim and Joyce – who spend their free time investigating unresolved murder business just for fun. But when an unexplained death occurs in the vicinity, the ends of the original methods have a fresh criminal intrigue to solve, and the investigation takes an exciting turn.

Based on the bestseller of the same name of Richar Osman, The Murder club Thursday proposes an atypical and fun whodunit, produced by none other than no other than Chris Columbus (Mom, I missed the plane,, Madame Doubtfire,, Harry Potter) and carried by a legendary cast: Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie … An investigation which promises to be tasty, and that we can’t wait to taste.
