
Nintendo Switch 2 – Gamecube games will come exclusively for online subscribers
It is not only in short 2 which will have pronounced the new forties at the beginning of 2025. Nintendo revealed, as part of the Presentation of the Switch 2the integration of gamecube games into the retro catalog of the Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Pack. The subscription service, which allows you to play online and take advantage of retro console selections like SNES and the Game Boy, wins a major novelty – and exclusive to the Switch 2.
A first salvo of games at launch
The launch of the Nintendo Gamecube classics will be in tandem with the Switch 2, on June 5, with three games at the start. First F-Zero GX, always the latest episode in the futuristic racing game license, with its story mode and its very many vessels to be piloted. In another genre, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, the seventh episode in Cel-Shading, will also be there. Finally, for fight lovers, Soulcalibur II (which notably counts Link in Guest Star) will complete this trio.
Obviously, other games will enhance this first selection in the future. Among them, Nintendo's trailer has unveiled some: Chibi-Robo, Pokémon XD, Pokémon Colosseum, Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Mario Smash Football and Luigi's Mansion. It is not yet known whether the distribution of new titles will be monthly or more punctual.

The nostalgic trip would not be whole without dedicated controller. As was already the case for the launch of the previous retro catalogs, Nintendo will offer a reissue of the GameCube controller, this time embellished with wireless connectivity, buttons of the Switch 2 and a USB-C port. The controller will be offered around € 69.99 on the brand's official store.
