That you have recovered a Nintendo Switch 2 From its launch or some time later, this game console deserves a few minutes to configure it. After possibly transferring your data from the first switch, and before launching your first game, some settings deserve your attention in the options. All may not be useful to you, but most will make your video game experience better in the long term. It is therefore relevant to lean on it quickly.
Activate dark mode
For aesthetic reasons, in order to be less dazzled at night or limit (a little) (a little) the consumption of the battery, it may be preferable to replace the clear theme by default of the interface of the Nintendo Switch 2 with its dark theme.

If this mode introduced in 2022 would have deserved an option to automatically alternate from one to the other, it is fortunately easy to activate and deactivate. For this, direction Console parameters> Themes.
Limit battery recharge
One of the rare new features on the side of the parameters of the Nintendo Switch 2 concerns the battery life. As with some smartphones, Nintendo allows, via a simple check box, to limit maximum battery recharge to 90 % instead of 100 %, including when you forget it in its dock.

You will certainly have a little less duration of play on a daily basis, but this uses the battery less to maintain better autonomy over time. Direction Console parameters> Console> Stop recharging around 90 %.
Change buttons configuration and play with accessibility
Like the previous Nintendo console, the Switch 2 allows you to modify the configuration of the joy-cons or a controller buttons. Practical if you are not comfortable with the default provision offered by Nintendo, especially if you come from Microsoft or Sony. Point Console parameters> Accessibility> Configuration of buttons.

A check check also allows you to add a shortcut to this functionality in the quick settings. In another concern for accessibility, know that it is possible in this same menu to use and adjust the text in speech (including for the multiplayer GameChat functionality), but also to modify the appearance and size of the displayed text.
Set parental control
Finally, if you have children and want to limit access to the Nintendo Switch 2, you might as well take care of it immediately. For this, go to Console parameters> parental control. There, you will benefit from an explanatory video and a link to download the Parental Control app on iOS or Android.

At Nintendo, this functionality makes it possible in particular to limit access to certain games in time or depending on age, prevent purchases and the possibility of posting catches, or prohibiting access to GameChat.
