Nvidia lowers the price of RTX 50 series, but do not scream victory too quickly
The prices of GeForce RTX 50 Series have dropped in France (and Europe). Not because of an aggressive commercial strategy, but because of the exchange rate. The euro has strengthened against the dollar in recent weeks, and Nvidia has simply adjusted its prices to follow this monetary development.
NVIDIA lowers the price of GeForce RTX SERIES 50 in France: an adjustment linked to the exchange rate
For several weeks, the euro has strengthened against the dollar, a trend that seems to have stabilized. However, as the price of components and graphics cards is mainly calculated in dollars, Nvidia has decided to adapt its prices accordingly. This type of adjustment is rare, but here it follows a purely monetary logic: when the euro gains in value against the dollar, prices of imported products can be adjusted downwards to reflect this development.
This decision comes afterSeveral months of tension on the graphics card marketmarked by high prices and a fluctuating demand. But this reduction remains above all a technical correction, and not an indicator of a broader change in the pricing policy of the firm of Santa Clara.
Here are the new prices after adjustment:
The decreases, between 4 % and 4.6 %, are in line with the decrease in the value of the dollar estimated at 3.9 %. This movement therefore aligns perfectly with recent monetary fluctuations, without being linked to an evolution of production or demand.
A reduction that does not guarantee accessible prices
These figures seem encouraging, but buying a 50 series RTX at these prices remains complicated. Stocks are always limited, the Founders Edition are always out of stock, and many resellers apply high margins. Result: even if Nvidia officially drops prices, cards are often more expensive in store. The real question is therefore: will this drop really benefit buyers? For the moment, nothing is less certain, even if A firm representative recently indicated that prices were going to stabilize.
