NVIDIA: RTX 5060 arrives with DLSS 4, GDDR7 and… a less good news
NVIDIA expands its RTX 50 range with the GeForce RTX 5060, expected on May 19 at 6 p.m. (Paris time). Marketed from $ 299 (excluding taxes and import costs), this new graphics card aims to seduce the general public with the latest advances in the firm, such as DLSS 4 and GDDR7 memory. But between lightened specifications and an always unstable market, the relevance of this model remains to be discussed.
NVIDIA RTX 5060: an accessible promise, but under conditions
With its 3,840 Cuda cores, the GeForce RTX 5060 is a youngest in the siblings of the RTX 50. She aligns herself behind RTX 5060 Ti, launched in Aprilwhich takes 800 more. However, Nvidia injects the most recent home technologies to him: GDDR7 memory, late generation Tensor and Ray Tracing hearts, and especially the DLSS 4 With generation of multiple frames (Multi Frame Generation).
This last point is essential: Nvidia is counting on a rapid rise in power of DLSS 4 support in games. Mechwarrior 5: clans And New World: Aeternum will benefit from a DLSS 4 update before the release of the card, enough to illustrate its potential in real conditions.
But the technical sheet has a setback: 8 GB of VRAM, at a time when some titles claim double to operate in high definition. A video memory that could quickly become a bottleneck, especially for the AAA games to come.
A price set at $ 299, and no fe
On the price side, the $ 299 announced are likely to remain only a promise. Already, the other RTX 50 models are sometimes difficult to find and regularly sold above the recommended rateand the recent abrogation of the exemption from minimis by the Trump administration lets the threat of additional taxes over international deliveries. With the current exchange rate and taking into account taxes and import costs, we can estimate a price of around € 319 including tax in France.
In parallel, laptops equipped with RTX 5060 are planned, from $ 1,099, which confirms Nvidia’s desire to flood the mid -range with its new chip.
And if you ask yourself the question, no, the GeForce RTX 5060 will not benefit from a Founders Edition version. NVIDIA confirmed that no model Founders Edition will be offered for RTX 5060, just like for RTX 5060 TI.
